So sorry about the loss of your horse. I too just lost my beautiful palomino/quarter horse mare, Dusty. She died from colic and it was so horrible and sad, I went for days and could not even talk about it. She was 20 and I had her since she was a two year old. I do have her son, which does make me try to move on with life, although it is the hardest thing..... she was so beautiful inside and out, and she loved kids. She loved being around all people. So I know your pain and grief, I still miss and love her so very, very much. I know that I always will miss and love her for as long as I live.

I am so sorry for Mitzi dying it sounds so sad. Nobody really gets over their pet dying but he/she is in a better place now.
Deepest Condolences by: Joe
Claire,
My heart goes out to you. You gave Mitzi a wonderful, long life, and even though ending her pain was the hardest thing you ever had to do, it was the right thing to do for her, a compassionate, selfless, completely loving act on your part. She sounded like a great horse, and it sounds as if you and she had a great many memories together, so many reasons to look back and smile.
My deepest condolences on your loss. One day, though, you will see her again, and all of the pain will be forgotten.
