Tonight is my last night with my beloved 16 year old shih tzu Maxmillian Winchester......he has been really healthy until the last month or so.....like Holly he can barely lift his head....and walking is painful for him. I wanted one last day with him before we let him go. He has been the protector of his little brothers and the guardian of his humans.....the most loving caring little guy you could ever asked for. I know this is the right thing for him but it is so hard to let him go. He has been my buddy through the death of a brother and my parents and through my battle with breast cancer......the bridge will be a brighter place with him there.
Feeling for your loss by: Anonymous
OMG....we could have written each other's story. I was shocked to read your words because it sounded like me writing about my beloved black lab again. I know exactly what you were feeling knowing it was the last time that you would see her and feel her and talk to her. It is a hopeless, heart-wrentching thing to go through.
I hope you find some peace through the holidays knowing that you did all you could and gave her a great life filled with love. I watch for signs for my baby and am open to his presence at all times. I too think we will see them again. That thought gets me through the harder days. I hope you have a good holiday season and you feel the presence of your girl.
Holly by: Betty
Deb, It was so sad to hear about Holly. Pets are our kids too and a very important part of our lives.. It's so hard to let go when we know we have to, but your greatest love and gift to her was just that. Your beautiful friend will await you.
Hugs, Betty
Sorry for your loss by: Anonymous
Debbie,
I'm sorry for your loss. What you said about pets is just so right on, about how they just know how to love, forgive, always say hi, always be happy with you ... and how long it takes us to learn the same thing. Our beloved pets can teach us so much.
You gave your Holly a great life, and I'm sure on the other side she is smiling down on you with the perfect appreciation pets know, and with fond memories of the time you had together ... and somehow too for the ones still to come.

She was a wonderful lady and way too young to leave us, I will never be able to walk by a tennis ball without thinking of her! Very sad.
