I lost my dear Annie this Thursday night-12/2/10 and I haven't stopping crying. She was so much to me...she and I had a bond that not too many people understand. I'm glad to find a site like this where other people understand. She was my best friend too and I know exactly how you feel. I too want the hurt to go away. To lose 2 so close must be so hard...I am so very, very sorry. My deepest sympathy to you. I posted this saying on my Facebook page and find it very true:

Dave,
I am so sorry how your story ended. I think that you choosing to endure the pain of what you had to do just shows how much you love your best friend. The pain will subside but it will always be with you. You will learn to accept and live with. You are very honorable man to accept the pain to set a friend in pain free. I have a cat on here that was much like your story-Mitze-eyes of blue--I miss her so much but thankful for every minute I had with her. Talking about it with those who would listen helped me. Good luck you and my deepest sympathies to you.
