About Maggie
My baby girls name is Maggie, she's a beautiful ridgeback, mastiff, staffy, boxer cross with a glossy brindle coat. Maggie had the most wiggly rear end when she was happy and if anyone passed by she would bound out of the house with her favorite toy in her mouth, a pluckaduck.
When did you lose Maggie?
On a very sad 16th June 2010, she had been paralysed since the end of March and I had tried everything to help her, acupuncture, laser, chiro, physio and hydrotherapy even medication but on that Wednesday she didn't want her breakfast and looked distended in the tummy. I took Maggie to the vet and was told she was bleeding, I held her so close and let her lick my face and kissed her back, she fell asleep snoring away as the vet injected her, it was so peaceful until I started crying my heart out.
At which stage of pet loss grief do you feel you are currently at?
I cry every day, I can't go out, think straight, I have an endless headache, I have been on petloss, my thread is My Sweet Maggie, there have been many times I have wanted to end my pain and be with her.
Becky and Maggie's Story so far
My son picked her out when she was born and named her Maggie, she use to love getting in his bath, she was a real water lover. I was the one who looked after her but he always played with her. She was so special, always friendly and happy and grunting when she was happy.
