Your Pet Tributes

Spanky and Sparkle came into my life very unexpectedly. My husband was headed to a neighbors house to help him fix something (I can't remember what). He was driving down the road in the late spring. Still really cold where we live, and he thought he had passed a black garbage bag blowing in the wind. But something didn't seem right. He backed up and here comes bounding to him 2 little black lab pups. He picked them up and brought them to a neighbors house he knew had a black dog. The neighbor said that they weren't his puppies. My husband said "oh crap" (well something like that).

Any how, he came home and asked me to come outside. He opened the door and there they were. So cute and fat. Well we brought them in and got on the phone to all the neighbors. Nope not ours was told to us over and over. We did find out that they must come from a litter of 8 because some of the neighbors we called also found puppies! And not real close to each other either. What a shock!! Someone just dropped them off. (I should mention that we live in a rural farm area, and neighbors are miles apart.)

This was 13 years ago. And on Friday, February 10th 2012 we held our boy Spanky as died. He was a super puppy, and will be missed for a very long time. He was one of the great loves of my life. He talents were, speaking, shaking, and being the boss of his sister Sparkle. He was such a loving and loyal dog!!!

I wonder how much his sister knows and what she feels. She doesn't leave my side and is not herself. I just hope she is with us for a long time yet. I don't think I could take it if she left us anytime soon.

I am so sad, but feel so blessed to have and had such wonderful souls in my life!
