I too understand your pain. On the 5th Nov 2013 it will be 2 years since I had to put my beautiful Springer Spaniel Ralph to sleep. Even now, 2 years on, I cry often and the grief and pain are still with me. That is how strong and deep our bond and love was. Still is. Being around other dogs helps me too and I hope one day to be able to give a home to a rescue dog we who needs it. I know that is what Ralph would want. My thoughts are with you.

I miss her every day. by: Tom, Sam's human
Thank you for your sweet and kind hearted comments. It's been almost 2 years since I had to let Sam go, and the grief still overwhelms me when I think of her, or see a picture.
I just read about singer Mindy McReady taking her dog's life before she ended her own, and the tears just started flowing again.
The only time I feel relief from this sadness is when I'm around another dog.
Not to be a bummer, but I never thought that when Sam had to go that I would never have another dog. Sweetest creatures God made, life savers and best of friends.

Sam A Beautiful Tribute by: Susan. MA
This was the most heartfelt tribute I have read.
It's comforting to know that there are other people who understand the overwhelming pain you feel when you lose your dog.
God Bless You & Sam
Beautiful Sam tribute by: Anonymous
I just lost my big guy, Rupert. I saw your tribute and want to say how beautiful it is, just like Sam. It made me feel a little better, and I hope that your pain has eased some in the time that passed since you wrote it. We'll see our beloved pets again, I am sure of it. Take good care. Catherine

Sam showed me how much tenderness is in my brother.
