Thank you, Hannah, for your comments. They are appreciated. I'm sorry for your loss as well. Beau was a very handsome cat. I would tell him that if he was in human form, he would be movie star material (lol). It will be three weeks tomorrow (6/16/10) and it isn't getting any better. I miss him so much. I think we, as humans, tend to forget that in the majority of cases we are going to outlive our pets. And because of that, we tend to have more than one pet in our lifetime, and each time something happens to them, it hurts even more. Makes you wonder why we put ourselves through it. But then we remember how many cats, dogs and other species need good, loving homes, and we do it again - fall in love all over again. Each experience makes us a better person and shows our compassionate side, even though it hurts beyond belief.
To everyone who is on these pages, and has lost their loving companion, accept my sincere condolences. It is comforting to know I'm not alone and others are grieving for their pets too.

What a gorgeous cat! I am very sorry for your loss. You did what was best for him, and with time you really DO start to realize that. I had to put my rabbit, Joy, to sleep a few months ago. It still hurts beyond belief, but the pain goes away every now and then and I am able to feel happy for the "joy" that she gave me. She made me the happiest little girl when I got her for my 11th birthday, and she still makes me the happiest girl now at the age of 18.
Again, I am very sorry. I know that saying sorry never makes it any better, but I do not know what else to say. I don't know what you're feeling because every animal and person is different. However, I do know it will get better. The sad memories will turn into happy ones and you'll be able to walk by the silly places he slept and smile instead of cry.
