I too lost my beautiful best friend Ralph (Springer Spaniel) who is also on this site. My husband and I had to put him to sleep on 5th November 2011 and my heart has broken everyday since. I don't think I will truly ever get over his loss but the rawness is going. I cry because I miss his presence and my heart aches for him so much. It's like a part of me is missing. I hope we will all find peace with our loss one day. I totally understand how you feel. I had a Doberman called Shane as a child and they are wonderful dogs. I hope you feel better soon and I hope I will too. With love.

I am so sorry for the great loss you have been through!! You are a very strong person to do doggie CPR and bring him back, although later to lose him. He was so beautiful and I hope that Kane and Ellie Mae are up there running through the fields and barking and having fun.
Although the pain does subside with time, it never truly goes away. We have a 5 year old sheltie named Codie, and when we say where's Ellie his ears perk up and he looks at the mantel because we had her cremated and she sits there on the fireplace mantel and I can say good night to her.
Your pain, I don't know if I would ever be able to even try to begin to heal. I am still depressed over her loss, but I am so happy that he is not in any pain.
I love this site because you can write to them, and talk to them and feel a little happiness for a couple minutes.
Again I am so sorry you lost Kane and I hope that your pain begins to fade because it will never go away, but you had him for 9.5 years of wonderful great unconditional love and lots of kisses.
I hope that you and your husband are feeling a little better today, and when you read this you will cry, as I did when I read yours. They are a part of our families and some people don't understand that.
I hope you are having a better day today! Look up the sky tonight before you go to bed and tell Kane how much you miss him and still love him with all your heart! I do, it helps.
