CJ, Did you share your story here? I looked and did not see it. I am glad that our experience was helpful. I wish that no one has to go through any loss and then one like bloat that is so sudden.
From what people are saying is that it is a miracle that Porter lasted as long as he did though there are dogs that survive this condition.
My husband and I are still dealing with the shock of it all. Thank goodness there is a place like this website to share your stories. Thinking of you and Luke, Lissa

I just lost my Doberman mix to Stomach Bloat. Your story has helped me because I feel the same way. Here, I have a dog who was in great shape and had a wonderful day, only to have him taken from me a mere 30 minutes after he began showing that he did not feel good. He died on the way to the emergency clinic. I'm having a hard time coming to terms with the fact that 1 minute I had a healthy happy dog and then have him suddenly gone. Thanks.

I also lost a Boxer to cancer, 4 years ago and I still remember that day as if it were yesterday. It took her within 3 days, in the same fashion as it took your precious baby. I lost my best friend, my Lab Rudy to cancer on July 8th of this year. I am still grieving very deeply for Rudy. But, as I think of Mugsy my Boxer with joy in my heart and a smile on my face, I know that one day I will think about Rudy and smile.
Just know you are not alone. Take care.

I am sorry to hear of your loss. I recently lost my companion of over 20 years about 6 weeks ago, and still have a hard time getting up every day and not seeing his beautiful blue eyes and tail wagging waiting for me to let him out in the morning.
