My Dear Sweet Toby-boy. We still miss you and think of you every day. You brought us so much joy and love. Some people told us we should get a new dog right away, but we could not even think of doing that - we were so grief stricken and sad. I knew I could never replace you for you were my baby. But late in 2011, I started looking online at Westie Rescues - still not sure if I could or even wanted to get another dog. But the fates seemed to conspire as we heard of a Westie Rescue on Jan. 3, 2012 who was immediately available in a nearby town who needed a home. Your dad and Jeff immediately went to see him at the humane society where he had just been returned the previous day. They spent several hours with him getting to know him and as much of his history as could be learned. They called me and said they felt he needed us and could not leave him up there, so they brought him home that same day. He is a Westie, just like you, and you know what special little dogs you all are - he is 4 years old which is good for us as we are getting older too. You all are similar due to your breed but definitely have your own personalities. He has not replaced you but has brought some joy back into this house which was lost when we lost you. I know you would like him as you never met a dog or human you did not like and who did not like/love you. Loving and Remembering you Always - Mommy -
