I am so sorry for your loss. Your story made me cry for your loss and for mine. Although I did not lose my dog in such terrible circumstances I lost him at the age of 14, had to make the awful decision to end the life of the one I loved more than anything in this world. Ralph was a Springer Spaniel and my nick name for him was "Roo". Even though the memory of what happened is excruciating, I hope that in time the pain will fade and heal for you. As awful as it was, it wasn't your fault and I'm sure Roo was aware that you were searching for him. Sadly for us wild animals are only doing what is natural, but it is still hard. Remember Roo wouldn't want to see you like this. Imagine how he would feel to see his beloved torturing themselves over this. The best way you can honour him is to live your life to the fullest, for you and for him. That's what our beloved animal companions would want us to do. Please think about counselling as this has helped me deal with my loss. My love and thoughts are with you. Coral (UK)
