I'm so sorry for your loss and I understand the feeling of not knowing, searching... I lost my best friend and sidekick since puppyhood, 9 years ago, Bandit, when he disappeared in the rural mountains where I live just over a month ago. Besides the coyotes here, we had a snowstorm 3 days after he disappeared. We never found him, though a neighbor found his collar. I may never know what became of my "little buddy" (my nickname for him), but I have to believe this happened for a reason. Devastated, a couple weeks ago I met a rescue dog who's been in and out of kennels and foster care for over a year, unwanted because she had an eye removed and most people are put off by this. When I looked in her eye (hehe) it was as if Bandit was speaking to me, telling me this little girl needs me, I'm OK Mom. No one could replace him, but I'm picking her up tomorrow and I hope I can give her a wonderful life.
