I am so sorry for your loss, I often think if I was here during the storm I would of wrapped him in blankets and held him, I think the stress was too much for him, I was stuck out of the country.
Sandy storm by: Anonymous
My baby hung on through the storm as well, I was out of the country and could not get home, often wonder if maybe if I was here I would have made a difference.
I feel for you by: Hunter's mom
Along with you - my beloved yellow Lab and I hung on throughout the hurricane. He was 13 years old-adopted from a shelter and turned out to be the best dog for me. In the last few months he began to lose the use of his back legs. We made it through the storm-no power for 2 weeks - helping him in and out. On the night before we got power back I had to actually carry him out (I am 4'11'' and 100 lbs and he was over 70 lbs) The next morning I had to do the same. There were a lot of other things failing him but the hard thing is I don't think he was in pain. We finally made the decision - it was the most horrible thing I ever had to do. I feel so guilty. I feel like I gave up on him. Thanks for letting me share my story. Sue
