Canine Soulmates
by: Coral (UK)

I too lost my 'child' my beloved Springer Spaniel Ralph on 5th November 2011, he was 14. I had to make the horrible decision to put my baby to sleep as he was collapsing all of the time and he was in a lot of pain. Even now 1 year 2 weeks on I still cry most days when I am on my own. I've had bereavement counselling and after 6 sessions my counsellor said it's just going to be a process that takes as long as it takes. I'd lost someone I loved for 13 years and you can't just get over that. It is slowly getting easier but I don't think any of us will truly get over our loss, it will just get easier to bear with time. I hope you find some peace soon. I take comfort knowing that throughout his life I only did whatever was best for him. He would have done the same for me. I will honour him by living my life like he did 'in the moment' with zest and excitement. We can only hope that one day, after that final goodbye, there will be another hello. My thoughts are with you.

Gizmo I miss you more and more every day, there are days I do not want to be here. You are my life and I miss it. I wish I could turn the clock back and be with you. I close my eyes and think of all the days we spent together and I want them back. You are the best thing that has ever happened to me I love you with all my HEART and when you left me you took it with you. I got a puppy but it is not the same as you .... you and I had a lot of history together. Oh My Gizmo how I miss you and I Love you so much since the first day I got you when you were 6 weeks old.
