I sadly lost my beautiful Springer Spaniel Ralph last year in November 2011 at the age of 14. I was lucky enough to have him in my life for 13 years. It still does not help heal the grief over his passing. It's been almost a year since I lost him but I still cry and ache for him everyday. We had such a strong bond and trusted each other with our lives. We saved each other so many times. The loyalty, love and devotion I received from my canine friend is something I have never experienced before and I miss him so much. It helps give me comfort to know I am not alone in my loss. I downloaded Cherry Cherry on reading your story and it makes me smile. You were lucky to have such a wonderful friend like Fletcher in your life. Treasure his memory. I read a really great quote recently "do not cry over what you have lost, smile for what you had"! With love Coral United Kingdom
Thank you Margaret. by: Summer
Thank you so much for your kind words. I can see that you understand the loss all to well, and thats a lovely idea with Spike's collar.
I'm not ready to let go of Fletchers yet, I still sleep with it and throughout the day hold it to hear the familiar jingle of tags. But when I am ready (as it's starting to smell more like me than him now) I'm going to put it in a frame with a lovely picture of him :)
Thank you again, it's lovely to have support and understanding.

What a warm and wonderful story, Summer. My heart is aching with you. Fletcher was your best friend and left you and your family way too soon. He was your EVERYTHING.
The video is absoluteey priceless. Fletcher was one of a kind. Thank you for sharing..
You and Fletcher will always be with each other in heart.
Margaret - hugs
PS. My beloved Spike (my yellow lab) is here at Pet Loss Matters. Like you with Fletcher's collar, I kept Spike's collar at my side for months. I would pick it up, touch and smelled it regulary. My daily comfort. Now Spike's collars hangs off his photo nexty to his ashes (in an oak box). I look at his picture and say good morning Spike..
