Buddy after he lost use of his legs on Friday, Feb 13th, 2009 in the morning
This afternoon I received a letter from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine that states: "Recently we were told that you suffered the loss of your cat, Buddy. Recognizing the bond of affection that existed between you and your pet, (vets' names) have made a contribution in memory of Buddy to the Companion Animal Fund here at the Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine....We are most grateful for this contribution in support of our work and it is our earnest hope that you derive some comfort from this kind gesture of sympathy. Sincerely,..."
This letter has touched me so deeply - that the vets have made a contribution in memory of Buddy! What good, kind people to have done this. I feel very lucky to have them.
It has brought out all my emotions again, and I have been crying a lot today thinking about Buddy and how I wish I could hold him and see him come into the room - how assuring it would be, but it's a fantasy.
Exactly one month ago today, I brought Buddy to the vet, on Monday, February 9th - and he was diagnosed with some problems, chronic renal failure being one of them, but he seemed healthy enough to be rehabilitated. So I'm still somewhat feeling like I can't believe he's gone, he was just here a short time ago.
Tonight is the candle lighting ceremony. Must light a candle in memory of Buddy. Attached is a photo of Buddy taken on Friday, February 13th, in the morning, just after he fell. Love you and miss you Buddy. I am most appreciative of this website. It has been so helpful.
