Real Life Rainbow Bridge Stories
'Can You Hear Me, Ollie?'

I am a 14 year old and as soon as I say that, some will think 'Oh, she's just making this up because she'a a kid!' Believe it or not, I am telling you the truth.
I have never seen anything paranormal before, but I believe in it. When I lost my cat Oliver, I was completely heartbroken and lost. I sat in my room the whole Summer of 2010. He was a fat longhaired smoky gray cat with emerald green eyes, white feet, underbelly, and muzzle, with a white tip at the end of his tail.
When I was 6 years old, I found him in my backyard without a mother and he was only about 4 weeks old. My father is animal control and took him to live there until he was older. He was my constant companion, and was very friendly and cheerful. He loved everyone, and at night he would cuddle with me in bed.
In April of 2010, he disappeared. I was crushed and sad. I went looking for him and found him in the Summer. He was dead. He had died underneath my neighbor's house months ago.
All Summer I was devastated and hardly talked. Late one rainy afternoon in August, I was crying in my backyard in the rain, and I pleaded with Oliver to let me know he was still with me.
He did. That night, when I was asleep, I bolted up. (Take note that I'm balling right now) I felt compelled to look outside. I had a huge window by my bed. I saw him. My Ollie. He was padding in my backyard and I was speechless. He turned and looked at me. His expression was one of happiness and regret. His gaze seemed to say it all. His pelt softly faded into the predawn light. I ran straight outside and cried with happiness. He was alright.
He still visits when I'm sad, as I often hear him padding in my kitchen. I call, "Ollie!" and as soon as I do, his padding starts and at night, I literally feel the weight of his body curled up in the crook of my arm. I love you Ollie, and I will meet you at Rainbow Bridge, my fat, cuddly, little best friend. I wish that I could say more, but all I can say is, I love you.
